Brief
For my passion project for Proctor and Gamble, I led the development of a semi-permanent hair dye line, creating both innovative dye drops and a user-friendly application device. Collaborating closely with a graphic design intern, we combined sketching, in-depth research, CAD modeling, and various industrial design techniques to bring this concept to life. Juggling this project alongside my other responsibilities, I refined my ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver impactful design solutions.

3D Prints
To gain a more comprehensive understanding of the products in 3D, I created PLA 3D prints of the Flair drops and the Flair brush. These prototypes provided valuable insights into the physical form and functionality, allowing for further refinement of the designs.
Research
To kick off the project, we conducted comprehensive research to identify market opportunities, growth potential, and areas for expansion. This data informed the creation of detailed user personas and mood boards, helping us pinpoint pain points and opportunities for improvement. Leveraging these insights, we designed innovative dye drops and a user-friendly application device, addressing unmet needs and enhancing the overall user experience.
All research and trends were gathered from WGSN
Ideation
Building on the research, I dove into a two-part ideation phase focused on creating dye drops and a corresponding application device for our brand. I began by designing the dye drops, establishing a cohesive design language that would guide the entire product line. With the drops finalized, I applied this design language to develop the application device, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience that aligned with our brand's vision.
Dye Drop Concepts
To launch the Flair brand, I focused on designing concentrated dye drops, which our data indicated had the most market potential. This initial design established a strong visual identity that I then carried over to the application device, ensuring a consistent and cohesive brand experience. The dye drops are designed to be mixed with conditioner and then applied to the hair, making the dyeing process simple and customizable for users. This innovative approach not only enhances user convenience but also aligns with the Flair brand's focus on flexibility and ease of use.

Finalization of Idea
After the initial round of ideation, we narrowed down two concepts that showed the most potential. While we explored and expanded upon a straightener concept, it ultimately fell short in effectively communicating the design language. Instead, we finalized the hairbrush concept, which not only aligned seamlessly with the brand's aesthetic but also significantly reduced mess during the application process, enhancing the overall user experience.
